The concept of ritual has always informed and inspired my aesthetic sensibilities. It ties me to the ancient qualities that exist in both cultural ceremony as well as natural repetition.

This past summer, I floated down the San Juan River in southern Utah, and was enchanted by the datura plants growing in the back canyons. Their inviting white flowers and pale green leaves hid their powerful and dangerous properties. I built several pieces, both abstracted and more realistic, based on my observations of these curious plants.

In a departure from my more realistic interpretations of the natural world around me, I also assembled several abstract wall sculptures which I call murmurations. I hope these capture the energy and explosion of masses of birds flying together.

I hope that you enjoy this unique assortment of flora and fauna!
